The physiotherapy department is located on the ground floor of the National Rehabilitation Center (EKA), in an area completely accessible to internal and external patients. It is adjacent to the Occupational Therapy, Psychology and Social Work departments, in order to ensure the smooth and fast movement of patients from department to department.
The main goal of the physiotherapists of EKA is the reduction of pain and the improvement of mobility and functional capabilities of patients. Our ultimate goal is to improve quality of life and the integration of patients in society.
Physiotherapy programs are personalized and designed to meet the needs of each patient. The program begins after the patient is referred by the treating physician.
DISORDERS
The specialized physiotherapists of our Center can treat a wide range of disorders such as:
Neurological diseases (Vascular strokes, Traumatic Brain Injuries, Spinal Cord Injuries, Parkinson’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis, polyneuropathies, post-ICU syndrome, etc.)
Musculoskeletal disorders (Cervical Syndrome, Low Back Pain, Fractures, Sprains, Tendonitis, etc.)

Our Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists often work together in integrated specialist teams, in the context of self-care and in the context of assistive technology.
EDUCATIONAL WORK
Our department shows valuable educational activity, in collaboration with the University Departments of Physiotherapy throughout the country. Graduates of these departments choose EKA to carry out their internship and gain valuable clinical and work experience, alongside renowned health professionals.
In addition, in collaboration with the University of West Attica (P.A.D.A.), the course of clinical neurological physiotherapy is held. The aforementioned course is held under the guidance and invaluable help of our specialized physiotherapists.
THERAPEUTIC POOL
In a recently renovated area, co-located with the swimming and children’s pool, is the therapeutic pool of EKA (15m long and with automatic temperature regulation).
The programs are patient centered and performed by specialized physiotherapists with knowledge of hydrokinesiotherapy .
